She's
a Saint
From
the album The Summer Land
She’s
a saint
You might hear the Lord’s name in vain
but she’s a saint – she swears she ain’t
and she’ll go to great pains
to let me know how human she can be
as if that mattered to me
She’s a saint
She’s
a saint
Her hands are clean and her heart is pure
She’s a saint – she swears she ain’t
and she wants to be sure
that I know how human she can be
like that matters to me
She’s a saint
She
prays standing up with her eyes wide open
her head in the clouds and listening to something
She’s smilin’ before the sun can rise
And if it rains she feels it deeper than you
She tries to hide as if somehow she has to
It’s no use, I can see it in her eyes
She’s
a saint
You might hear a cross word a few times a week
But she’s a saint - she swears she ain’t
and to listen to her speak
she thinks she’s as human as can be
She’s not nearly as human as me
She’s a saint
She
prays standing up with her eyes wide open
her head in the clouds and listening to someone
She’ll be shinin’ before the sun can rise
And if it rains she feels it deeper than you
She’ll try to hide as if somehow she had to
It’s no use, I can see it in her eyes
She's a
saint
