AMERICAPOLL
Mother
England Spanks Dictator Better
A
recent RFB AmericaPoll shows that Americans
overwhelmingly prefer the British Saddam
statue toppling in Basra to the American
version in Baghdad.
“It
was anti-climactic,” said one respondent, “That
statue in Baghdad just kind of bent down
slowly and hung there by its shins. There
was no giant thud and crash. Finally it came
down, but not nearly with all the drama that
the Basra one came down with.”
Rosa
DeGraffe of RFB Research and Marketing says
the poll results clearly show that Americans
are not as arrogant as some may believe.
“Clearly,
Americans know when they’ve been beaten,
and they aren’t afraid to admit it,” said
DeGraffe, “There was no blind patriotism
evident at all in our poll results.”

“It
was obvious,” said Joe
Zark of Sparta, Missouri, a farmer responding to
the poll. “The Brits can topple a statue. They
chained that thing around the base and yanked it down
so hard. Ol’ Saddam fell flat on his face and broke
his arm right off. Big cloud of desert dust kicked up.
It was great.”
Zark
describes himself as “American to the bone.” A
veteran of the Korean conflict, Zark is a gun owner
and registered Republican.
Said
Zark, “Americans aren’t stupid. We know
Germany makes better beer.
Not that I can afford it, but it is better. China
makes a better Happy Meal toy. France makes a better…I
don’t know, I’m sure France makes a better
something. And the British are way better at statue
toppling than us. That was obvious when the US troops
in Baghdad pulled down that statue and left Saddam’s
feet and ankles up on the pedestal.”
DeGraffe
believes future statue toppling will involve more
British Royal Marines.
“Americans
have always been good at calling in people who have
expertise in certain areas,” said the researcher, “and
our poll reflects that we as nation are not ashamed
to recognize the best and the brightest.”
