Dear
Radio Free Babylon™:
While
the State Department appreciates your interest in
foreign policy and world affairs, we really don’t
need your advice. We have layer upon layer of middle
manager types with graduate degrees in political
science and foreign relations who have been studying
this stuff since before you were born.
Your
simplistic approach and half-baked suggestions for
solutions are not tried. We have huge and lucrative
contracts with think tanks all over the world. They
provide us with options for conflict resolution and
foreign relations. Your ideas resonate with that
silly “can’t we all get along” mentality.
That is very nice and makes one think back to some
idealistic pot-smoking Berkeley love-in, but the
world is much more complex than that.
We
have a handle on it. Thank you anyway.
Very truly yours,
Trevor
Matthews III
4th Assistant to the Second Undersecretary of Homeland Correspondence
PS: Keep sucking up to the French and we will label your organization an Enemy
of the State.
