Radio
Free Babylon™ Jumps On Another Bandwagon, Starts
Podcasting
(FLORIDA,
USA.) Radio Free Babylon™ has once again seen
the future of the Internet long after everyone else
saw it. The Florida company
has jumped
into
the podcasting game, though company officials say
they will hold on to the antiquated term "broadcast."
"The
term 'broadcast' has always worked," said
Kimberly Wilson of RFB, "Podcasting is a fad.
Broadcasting has been around since the dawn of radio.
Some would say the term predates radio in that it
applied to a farmer broadly casting his seeds in the
field. The term 'broadcast' is not going anywhere."
Described by podcasting enthusiasts as "one of the better produced podcasts out
there," the show, which Radio Free Babylon has dubbed "Radio Free Babylon" has
attracted listeners from Arizona to Connecticut.
"We have roughly in the neighborhood of six
faithful listeners in almost as many states," said
Wilson, "And our numbers are going up every week.
We expect huge advertising opportunities if this trend
continues."
Radio
Free Babylon features the rantings and conversations
of Dave and Katie, the founders and managing members
of Radio Free Babylon, LLC. From politics to religion,
Dave and Katie talk about everything polite people
are not supposed to talk about. Interspersed with
musical interludes, the show walks a crooked line between
entertainment, news, commentary and slander.

Wilson
believes the current state of podcasting, as practiced
by millions across
the globe, is
in its "sucky" phase, with poor production
values and amateur hosts creating unlistenable drivel
with little value to anyone.
"This
field is wide open," says Wilson, "And it is really horrible
right now what people are producing, what people are listening to and
what advertisers are settling for. We aim to raise the bar here at RFB.
We will settle for no less than $10 million for a yearly, exclusive
contract. If that doesn't come in the form of a Microsoft, Nike, Toyota
or Budweiser, we'll likely have to parcel out our broadcasts at around
$100,000 for a thirty-second spot."
The show
is also featured at The Media Swamp
Podcasting Network.
