FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
RFB
Named Site of the Year by Record Company, Award
Revoked in an Hour
(FLORIDA,
USA.) Radio Free Babylon™, the multimedia corporation
with home offices in Florida, has announced that
its new website at www.radiofreebabylon.com was named
Site of The Year for 2005 by Comatose
Llama, the
web-based record company.
Davis Summerfield, VP of Comatose Llama announced the award at a company luncheon
honoring the multi-media conglomerate for its innovations in the arts.
“We
think RFB is simply the best. Usually you wait until
year’s end to roll these awards out, but we’ve
already made up our mind. Site of The Year was hands
down going to Radio Free Babylon™,” said Summerfield.
In
accepting the award, Kimberly Wilson of RFB said, “We
are honored. But we find it odd that a company we
own is trying to give us awards. It smacks of butt-kissing
if you ask us.”
“What
would we have to gain by kissing butt?” asked
Summerfield from his seat on the dais.
“Who
knows, maybe a raise, stock options, better food
in the cafeteria?” shot
back Wilson.
“Yeah
right,” snorted Summerfield, who then returned
to the podium and announced, much to the luncheon
attendees collective horror, that, “We’ve
made a mistake. The Radio Free Babylon™ site is not
the Best Site of the Year. In fact, it’s crap.
It’s ugly and it needs professional help.” Summerfield
then snatched the award from Wilson’s hands
and returned to his seat.
“Oh,
come on!” laughed Wilson, looking shocked and
bewildered.
Comatose
Llama Records has since decided to wait until year’s
end to announce its Site of The Year award. In the
meantime, Radio Free Babylon™ continues to display
a “Site of The Year” award emblem on
its website.
“That
is just childish,” said Summerfield, “And
probably unethical. They can’t use our corporate
image and pretend as though they won that award.”
The
webmaster for Radio Free Babylon™, who is also the
webmaster for Comatose Llama Records, is delighted.
“Whoever
has the most cash is going to get what they want
here. I can take it down. I can leave it up. Whatever.
Let the bidding begin.”
