If I had some bootstraps
I might pull myself up
But it takes money
to buy a tin cup
The banks won’t touch me
and my friends think I’m nuts
Eatin’ cold spaghetti
and smokin’ old butts

Been applyin’ for jobs
that I think I can do
Wal Mart, Bass Pro
options are few
They say the market’s in recession
yeah everything’s tight
This hole’s gettin’ deeper
ain't no end in sight

In the land of the free – the church of the brave

My landlord’s been lenient
I owe him three months back rent
City Utilities came
My 'lectricity went
If I don’t find some money soon

But Great Southern Bank took my car
they were tired of my talk
