It is estimated that as many as 75% of American homes have within them a guitar. Granted, that guitar may be stringless and in the attic, but it is still there. It is also estimated that as many as 80% of all American males have attempted at one time to learn to play the guitar.

We live in GuitarNation. (Not to be confused with the nation of Qatar.) Punch up any random song on your iPod. Chances are good it has a guitar in it.

At RadioFreeBabylon, we believe in music. Music makes the world go ‘round. Find a subculture, personality, or group of people, and you can find a musical style made just for them. In America, we have perfected the sub-categorization of music, from Hip-Hop Lite Pop Metallist all the way down to Gold Adult Contemporary Urban Country Capitalist1.

In an internal survey, it was discovered that an astonishing 100% of all RadioFreeBabylon employees listened to and enjoyed music. Our study further found that no less than half of our employees actually played and wrote their own music. It seemed only natural to start from within in our efforts to discover and develop new talent.

Thus was born our house band, Radio Free Babylon™. And thus was born a new subcategory of music that will need to be printed on the divider cards for the Wal-Mart music bins: NeoFolkFunk.

We are always on the lookout for more Americans with guitars and we’re always ready to create new subcategories of music to better define the marketplace.
